
The UPLB Program for Zoonotic Diseases in collaboration with the Philippine-American Academy for Science and Engineering is organizing the second installment of the “ZOOming in on One Health and Zoonotic Disease Webinar Series.”
Organized to promote knowledge and awareness about One Health and zoonotic diseases, the webinar features Dr. Thaddeus M. Carvajal, associate professor at the Department of Biology of the College of Science, De La Salle University.
Dr. Carvajal is a Balik Scientist Fellow for 2020 and 2022-2025 under the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology.
Dr. Carvajal will be discussing “Vector Biology, Ecology & Control of Mosquito-Borne Diseases: Current Research Endeavors, Gaps & Opportunities.”
The first webinar held on Nov. 4 through virtual conferencing featured Dr. Mia Madel A. Alfajaro, as postdoctoral associate at the Department of Laboratory and Immunobiology of Yale University who discussed “Assessing Spillover Risks of Sarbecovirus Through Receptor Discovery.”
