Jerry Yapo, an associate professor at the Department of Humanities, launched the second edition of his book “Artfully Speaking & other essays” at an event held at the UPLB Main Library Lobby, Bienvenido M. Gonzales Hall on Oct. 24.
“Artfully Speaking” contains Yapo’s reflections on his personal experiences as a teacher and as an appreciator of visual art. His essays are accompanied by personally commissioned pieces from his artist colleagues. Yapo is also the director of the UPLB Office for Initiatives for Culture and the Arts.
The book launch was accompanied by a group art exhibit titled “Text&Image” and featured visual art from artists Elena Malgapo-Domingo, Rosa Mirasol, Aldy Aguirre, Janos Delacruz, Averil Paras, Brent Sabas, and Eugie Varona Dela Cruz. The exhibit will run at the UPLB Main Library until Nov. 24.
This is the second printing of “Artfully Speaking” which was initially launched on Oct. 1 at the Gateway Gallery, Araneta Center, Quezon City. The second edition features a new cover.
